چکیده

Tea (Camellia sinensis L. [O.] Kuntze) is a highly cross-pollinated and self-incompatible plant. Seeds can be harvested from specific individual mother plants in polyclonal tea gardens. Whether the pollen donor plays an important role seed formation remains unclear. This study aimed to identify male parents of 72 natural hybridized progenies (F1) one female parent on basis putative allele by using simple-sequence repeat (SSR) markers exclusion-likelihood method with Cervus 3.0 software. The genetic material, which comprised seven accessions C. L., was acquired Assamica planted Kayulandak garden Pagilaran plantation Batang District, Central Java, Indonesia, studied during 2019 2020. genotype PGL-15 used as parent, whereas six candidate genotypes PGL-10, GMB-9, GMB-7, TPS-93, GMB-11, TRI-2025 were parents. In this study, 13 SSR loci F1 obtained through hybridization between accessions. Results indicated that method, correctly predicted 100% parents, more effective than approach, only 34.72% plants.

Differential Proteomic Analysis of Chilling Stress Responses in Tea Plant [Camellia sinensis (L.) O. Kuntze]

Low temperature is one of the serious environmental stresses affecting plant growth and agricultural production. It not only inhibits metabolic reactions but also causes osmotic, oxidative, and other damages [1]. Chilling temperatures that range from 0 to 12°C are common during the growing season and can substantially decrease plant productivity [2]. Plants respond and acclimate to chilling str...

Effects of light and darkness on polyphenol distribution in the tea plant (Camellia sinensis L.).

1. Flavonoid synthesis was able to proceed in darkness in young shoots and seedlings of the tea plant, but was increased by light. 2. The initial effect of darkness was to inhibit synthesis of the A ring or its linkage to the phenylpropane moiety of the flavonoid, but later the hydroxylation state of the flavanols was affected, leading to smaller proportions of gallocatechins and of complex leu...

5-Dehydroshikimate reductase in the tea plant (Camellia sinensis L.). Properties and distribution.

1. A method for the extraction of 5-dehydroshikimate reductase (EC 1.1.1.25) from tea plant tissues in an active soluble state has been developed. It is dependent on the use, in the extraction medium, of an insoluble polyphenol adsorbent (Polyclar AT), which prevents the polyphenols present from precipitating all the proteins. 2. The enzyme has the following properties: pH optima at pH10.1 in g...

Study of the Glycosylated Secondary Metabolites in Tea (Camellia Sinensis L.) Using UHPLC/Q-TOF/MS

Glycosylation is widely involved in a series of biological events in plants and are believed to be beneficial to human health, but studies on this biological process are limited mainly due to the unavailability of a powerful analytical approach to identify the abundant and diverse glycosylated metabolites in plants. This application note describes a nontarget modification-specific metabolomics ...

Inhibition of xanthine oxidase by catechins from tea (Camellia sinensis).

Some epidemiological studies have associated tea drinking with several health benefits, while other such studies have been inconclusive. The liver enzyme, xanthine oxidase (XO) produces uric acid and reactive oxygen species (ROS) during the catabolism of purines. Excess of the former can lead to gout and of the latter to increased oxidative stress, mutagenesis and possibly cancer. Polyphenols a...
